OT: FLyertalk Store Purchase

Please feel free to move this thread if there is a better category in which it belongs.

Just received my Flyertalk lapel pin and Flyertalk Luggage Tags today. Very nice of the Ft team to include a complimentary pack of Jet-Lag pills. I will definitely have to test the product out on my next mid to long haul flight.

Should anyone see me walk around the airport with my new FT yellow tag, please feel to come up to me for a chat.

Thank you very much for your quick delivery!!

Rgds
Tim

Unfortunately said jet lag pills are homeopathic pseudoscientific snake oil quackery that don't actually contain any active intredients. :td:

Said Quackery has eliminated my jetlag problem

I fly a lot of trips from the US west coast to Asia and back and the return trip used to result in murderous jet lag.

I've done this same trip a bunch of times since I started using the No Jet Lag and haven't had a jet lag issue since.

So if its quackery I'm all for it. YMMV!

After all my years of traveling numerously, I still have yet to spot a FT luggage tag onboard a flight.

Me neither, though I have been looking out for them. The couple I sat next to on the way to SIN seemed pretty clued into the whole travel thing, but had never heard of flyertalk. I told them about it and they said they would check it out. Maybe I met some potential flyertalkers :)

Maybe it's the particular flights and particular routes that I travel on doesn't seem to be heavily frequented by FTers.

I usually frequent SYD-SIN, a fairly heavy traffic route but have not seen the tags. Mind you I fly WHY, so maybe the frequent travellers on the route fly premium cabin, or maybe just not SQ.

I frequent 1) YVR-HKG-YVR (CX) 2) SFO-HKG-SFO (CX) 3) SFO-HKG-SFO (SQ) 4) LAX-YVR-LAX (AC/AS) 5) BUR-SFO/OAK (UA/WN). Maybe there are several FTers that frequent these routes as well but even when they do, I probably travel on different dates from them.

Isn't ipecac the stuff used to induce vomiting? Anyone know why this substance would be included in an anti "jet-lag" product?

I was just quoting from the box which came with my tags today, and not being medically trained I have no idea. Just double checked with the box and definitely Ipecacuanha (Ipecac).

It sure is. Great episode from Family Guy this past season involving syrup of Ipecac.
