Yeah, that restaurant is good - pretty authentic Italian food for the US, especially NC. I (kind of) know members of the family who owns it. Can't comment on the hotel though as I've never stayed (I live in Raleigh).

I-95 to I-40(Benson, NC)
I-40 to US-17(Wilmington, NC)
US17 down to Savanaha

Nice peaceful Coastal drive

Spend the night in Wilmington(do a movie studio tour)
or
Spend the night in Myrtle Beach(do Thee Doll House tour)
or
Spend the night in Charleston, SC(do the Plantation Tour)
or
Spend the night in Pawleys Isalnd(Do the Disney Tour).

Lots of really fine resturants along the way.
Personal opinion-AVOID I-95

Thanks, but we want to do Savannah-Washington DC in one or two days....I am going from Naples to Boston ... Next, please no beaches, we live on the beach .. we need mountains ... nice villages, cities. Our route will be Naples-Savannah (+Charleston?)-Washington DC-NY City-Boston.

Please help me. Driving savannah to Charleston and then to Washington. Confused which route is most beautiful drive, to stay on way, to detour and see sights. We have no time limit. Should we go Charleston to washington via blue ridge parkway or via North Carolina /outer ridges route
