White Plains Hotels

Can any one tell me if there are any hotels near the airport that have a free shuttle - and possibly a moderate price range (not over $150)

You might try a PM to DHammer53 who lives there, if no one else comes along and answers you.

Yuck. I hate HPN and used it only once for this reason.

I think there is a hotel with a shuttle, but it's on the other side of HPN from the airport, and I didn't stay there because it would be a long taxi ride from the White Plains train station.

I stayed at a hotel east of downtown (sorry, forgot the name). I took a taxi from the train station to the hotel, and arranged for a taxi in the morning to HPN.

I should have walked from the train station to the hotel, because the taxi fare was $16, and the taxi dropped off three other people first. It didn't save any time and cost far too much money.

The ride from the hotel to the airport was a nice vehicle, non-stop, and costs about the same.

If there is any way to fly to EWR or LGA or JFK instead, do it!

I know The Crowne Plaza in White Plains has a shuttle. I think you have to call them. I believe there's a Ramada near the airport; better check.

It takes about 12 minutes from HPN to town. Cost is roughly $14.

If you do cab it within White Plains, you can request to ride alone for an additional dollar.

There is a Renaissance about 8 minutes from the airport; same for the Rye Town Hilton. I'm not sure if they offer a shuttle.

If you decide to cab it from HPN, and your hotel doesn't have a shuttle, ask them for the phone # of a local cab. There are no cabs from HPN, only car service/limo. The cost is more than the cab. A local cab will meet you on arrival.

HPN is a small airport. Great views when you fly in/out (during the day) of Rye Lake.

Shoot! The one day I needed a hotel with a shuttle to HPN, the Crowne Plaza was sold out. It's within walking distance of the train station, too. :(

FYI This CP is at least a mile (and probably closer to 2) from the White Plains train station. If you're walking I hope you pack light! :)

The White Plains CP used to have a free shuttle to HPN, the train station, and surrounding businesses. From the website, it looks like they still do: "Also enjoy a complimentary shuttle to the Westchester Airport, White Plains train station, shopping malls and office complexes within 7 miles of hotel."

There really aren't any hotels very close to the train station - and the airport really isn't in white plains at all, rather North Castle/Armonk.

Whatever you do, do NOT stay at the former Armonk Ramada- it is now another chain, I don't remember which - disgusting place.

See if the WP Marriott has a shuttle. Or the Mt. Kisco Holiday Inn.

The Wellesley Inn Armonk has free shuttle to HPN - it has WiFi, too :)
