Orbitz question

Hello! I hope this is the right area to post this. My hope is that someone has had a similar situation and can answer my question!

My fiance and I booked our honeymoon trip to Italy on Orbitz, and were recently notified that our return departure has been changed to a few hours earlier, giving us a longer layover and over 17 hours of travel time- not ideal for a honeymoon!

When I called, I was told they would attempt to find us a flight leaving later in the day, as originally planned. They also asked if a refund would be acceptable if they could not switch our flight.

Does anyone here know if it is possible to go ahead and get the refund, without waiting for the option of changing flights? We have found some other travel possibilities that may be more ideal in the long run. But I'm not sure if we can ask for the refund up front, since our flight was changed?

Thank you in advance! :)

you shouldn't have any trouble getting a refund.

I've never dealt directly with Orbitz before, but the airlines are usually pretty good about this sort of thing as long as the schedule change was significant.

Anyway, welcome to FT and enjoy your honeymoon!! ^^

I think you should make sure you can get a comparable price elsewhere before asking for a refund.
