What size bag

Going to Italy for 6 days, vacation. My normal business trips are in the 2-3 month range and I pack the house. 29" Roller with duffle on top, backpack and computer case.
What do you think might be a good size for Italy trip? Is it possible you think to stuff everything into a 22" so I don't have to check luggage. Am thinking that and my backpack.
May be traveling by train some and possibly staying in Hostel

Thoughts?????

Short trip. pack light and carry-on.
Its easier to clear ICE and dont forget lost luggage is reimbursed at a fraction of its value on Intl travel.

Absolutely! I do annual 8 to 10 day trips to Asia with just a roller/backpack carry-on and a small shoulder pack for little stuff I might want on the plane. Not using the baggage check/claim nightmare saves tons of time and aggravation.
