I was on a Celebrity Cruise last summer from Vancouver -> Seward with stops in Juneau, Ketchikan , and a few other places.
Time was end of June/beginning of July.
Weather was great - no rain - coldest was 60s when we were near Hubbard Glacier.
Had a fantastic time.

The water slide wasn't ever opened, because the average temperature on deck was 50 F wind chill.

This was the trip of a lifetime, however. There is no comparison to the wildlife viewing (eagles, dolphins, whales etc.) and the scenery is the most stunning I've seen.

This is a cruise for the nature loving individual - although there were some activities geared for the teenage dancing set - it is definitely not for the "Cancun Cruisers."

Which was more than acceptable to me, as I really wanted to experience the Alaskan wilderness, glaciers and lifestyle, and I dressed in layers.

Make sure you are fully aware of what you will be treated to on this cruise, as it is truly a treat! Rafting the rapids, trekking the glaciers, hiking the mountains and helicopter rides through the unfettered beauty of the northland - it is a priceless adventure.

And be sure to let us know which trip you plan to take!

Have a great time.

Thank you. That sounds great! I'll definitely look for this one. I appreciate the recommendation for the nature lover. That's what I'm looking forward to the most, the scenery, the nature, the wildlife. As long as it's not so cold that I end up huddled in my cabin the whole trip!
Thanks again!

I took my wife, Mother in law, and her sister on Norwegian Sun, Vancouver round trip, May 2 - May 9, 2004. It was incredible. I agree that www.cruisecritic.com has a bunch of information on an Alaska cruise.

The weather for us was spectacular. Highs in the mid 60s, lows in the mid 40s, no rain to speak of. We did whale watching in Juneau with Capt. Larry, river rafting in Ketchikan, and we rented a car and drove the Yukon highway over the summit into Canada from Skagway. It was a trip of a lifetime. Met some great people, ate too much, and drank too much. It was reasonably priced (we got balcony rooms for $999). We swam almost everyday (pools were heated). You can't lay out and get a tan, though.

Flew direct DFW - YVR. No problems to speak of.

The Norwegian Sun, how did you like it. I was on the Wind and thought it was just ok.
