Guam
Has anyone been to Guam? What's it like? Is it similar to Hawaii as far as scenery and general feel?

Guam does have that dubious distinction of containing up to 13,000 brown tree snakes per square mile. I guess I'd probably consider that a significant difference.

I overnighted there a couple of nights in the late 1960s. No, I wouldn't go so far as to equate it with Hawaii. Problem is it is quite a small island, if you are considering vacationing there.

Small has its advantages. I lived on Guam for two years in the early 1980s, and have enjoyed life on Saipan since 1990.
The climate in the Mariana Islands is considerably more humid than in Hawaii. the best months to visit are from mid-December through February or March. January through June is the "dry" season, though not in a California sense, but relatively speaking.
