Value of Business Class ticket to Morrocco
I recently gave a friend a business class ticket to Morocco and a night at a Starwood category 4 property in France. He had an emergency back at home, and I gladly offered to help. The thing that was a bit surprising to me was that he thought it was no big deal since I had the miles and points for the hotel. I guess I thought my points were worth at least something, but he said it was a nice thing to do, but of course anyone would give free points to a friend that needed them. Does anyone have friends/relatives that have thought this when you have given them points? I don't want anything from him, but I was just a little surprised that he thought my points weren't as valuable as maybe I thought they were. Just curious... I hope this is the right forum!

I did the same thing, gave a friend miles so she could go home to see her ill family member, she was a student at the time...she said thanks, but it was like me handing her a beer rather than a $1000.
Never again, they are mine and they are going to stay that way. I am the one who bounces around hotels and airports earning them so I want the free vacation. |
you need to get some new friends. I have given away miles to friends/family in the past but they are very aware of how long and hard I "work" for these miles. 9 times out of 10 when I give away miles to friends to accompany me on a vacation they generally pick up most of the extras on the trips (meals, drinks, etc).
