IATAN card?
Does earning an IATAN card really allow for free (or close) standby airline travel? Is this valid on all IATA airlines and do they set their own policies? Any information would be much appreciated!
Thanks, win1300 |
An IATAN card (issued to bona fide travel agents) per se gets you nothing on the airlines. However, airlines do give out free tickets to travel agencies who meet certain booking goals. Those tickets, given to the agency manager, are handed out to agents who work for the travel agency and an IATAN card is usually required to use one of those tickets.

The simple answer is no. Unless you do a high volume of sales in air tickets you are not going to receive anything. Perks earned from tour or cruise companies usually require a lot of sweat equity and even "free" trips I have earned are far from it by the time you pay for such extras as air, taxes, port charges, gratuities, etc.

Thanks for the info!
