Moderate hotel & dining in Brussels?
Hi,
Any suggestions for a hotel near the train station in Brussels, preferably under 130 Euro/night? (I'll be coming from Lille and don't know which station that train arrives) I understand that Brussels has a vibrant dining district, so any recommendations on Belgian food and beer nearby would be appreciated. It'll be a Tuesday night during a very chaotic business trip, so I want it to be a relaxing experience! Thanks! |
The Holiday Inn in city centre is pretty good and can be had cheap. Plus you get points! As for dining, just walk around. There's plenty to be found.

The food specialty in Brussels is moules and frites. You get a pot of steaming mussels (probably about 3 dozen) and a plate of fries. Delicious and fairly reasonably priced. Lots of restaurants offer them. Restaurant row is one street a few blocks north of Grand Place.

Check out www.scandic-hotels.com for some deals on hotels in much of europe. If you have 10,000 Hilton HH points you can book a freebie night.

The LeMeridien is right across the street from the train station. The Royal Windsor (on Rue Duquesnoy) is about a 5 minute walk to the train station. If you take the correct tunnel out of the train station, you could stay dry for most of your walk to the Royal Windsor. I used to book (a year ago) the Royal Windsor as a hotel-only option on AAvacations.com, as they offered a rate of around 120 USD (and everywhere else offered a rate of 200 USD).
