Refund within 24h on LCCs?
 

Mrs. michaelr's brother booked a ticket on ATA (or SWA) yesterday to go to Arizona for an interview. Today he got a call that the position was filled. Because the purchase was less then 24h ago, is ATA going to refund the ticket?

I had a similar thing happen to Mrs. michael's father, he booked through Expedia and NW. Someone here advised to ask for the ticket to be voided through ARC (Airline Reporting Commision) which worked.

He is trying this right now but chances are the phone agent will have never heard of such a thing. What's his best approach and does it even work with the LCCs like ATA.
