Find cheap air fares

Hi Guys,

I dont know if this is the right place to post this but here it goes. What website do you guys use to find cheap fare for domestic and international flights? I thought I have heard of some free software you can download that searches lots of sites or somthing like that. What do most of you have best luck with?

Thanks in Advance,
Matt

Sorry I just noticed the post a few ones below me that is similar to mine. Any other suggestions let me know.

Also I have been tracking some flights to europe for next may and I noticed today on every website they went up like 40 dollars! Why would this happen so early? Should I have booked it before or do you think it will drop again?

It turns out that while checking u.s. fares are fairly easy, checking overseas stuff is far more complicated.

u.s. fares can be checked on three sites.

www.air-fares.com (click on the cities menu) gives you a good idea of what's available.

also at travelocity (www.travelocity.com) hit the flight tab and then the "fare listings" button on the lower right. travelocity also has its "dream maps"

Finally day to day, I like sidestep because it checks more airlines than orbitz, but if you do install sidestep, note that you have to change the "my sidestep" settings or it will automatically run everytime you go to a travel site.

Overseas, I've had some luck by going to the web sites of the airport for the overseas city (most of them have it and they have english versions), checking the schedule of flights from place to place and then going to the airline flight. That's how i was recently able to find a cheap flight from copenhagen to lisbon for a relative. (I started at the lisbon airport web site)

I use the websites of particular airlines or www.opodo.co.uk for checking prices anywhere in the world. http://dps1.travelocity.com/lognlogi...tr_module=FARE shows virtually all published fares for any given city pair (unfortunately lo-costs aren't included AFAIK), so you can see whether fiddling with travel dates has any potential to make a difference on the cost of your tix.

Thanks

You think fares to europe are going to drop again before next may? I had an open jaw ticket priced at 598 and now its 640. I hope it goes down.
