Original flight #'s for code shares?
How do I find the original flight number of a code-shared flight?
Eg. if I am booked with a United flight number on a USAir operated flight, how do I look up the USAir flight number? Is there a site that allows for such lookups? Any help would be very much appreciated. :-: Thanks! Patrick |
There are many sites that let you plug in the cities an the time of day and give you the Flight number. For the UA/US example, go to US' website and click Flight Number under "Check Flight Status." This will let you look up using city pairs.

Or just try to make a dummy full-fare one-way booking on a site like Travelocity, limiting your search to the operating carrier and the codeshare carrier. Most times, both flight numbers will come up as two separate lines, but it'll be obvious that they're the same flight because the times will be identical and one flight number will look like a codeshare number.

you can also go to the operating company's website, and type in your departure/ arrival cities and exact same time. That should pop up the operating carrier's flight number. If it's a star-alliance flight, it can be easily done on their website, which lists all the flights by different star carriers in and out of a city pair for a day. You should easily spot the code share flights and operating carriers' flight numbers, as they arrange the list by time.
