do you eat before flying in C?

Let's say you're flying transatlantic on one of the later departures, like 9:30. You're in C class so you're gonna get a nice hot meal, but probably not till around 10:30 or so. Do you eat a full meal at your "normal" time or do you wait it out and have the flight food be your meal?

I tend to eat regularly and then nibble on what we get on the flight.

I usually get a small snack like half a sandwich, side salad, soup or a little sushi before I head out on a flight like that. Then I will eat the full meal on the flight.

I eat before the flight, drink a nice glas of wine right after take off and sleep all the way till arrival.

I was flying EWR-MAN on a regular basis and just decided that the food wasn't worth it, even in C. The plane trip was only 6 hours. I valued sleep ALOT more! I ate a decent meal at normal meal times, and slept the entire way over. I will usually wake up and eat the light breakfast offering. I would then hit the showers at my hotel after landing and head straight to the office. It kinda sucked but doing it this way I got over the time difference very quickly. If travelling for pleasure with someone who doesn't ever get to travel in C I will usually partake of the meal and the liquor for the sake of my travelling companion.

Agree with Rachel on this one. I'm usually out on a late-night red-eye out of HNL and whenever I'm flying (whether in Y, C or F), I will eat a good hearty meal before take-off, eat lightly on the plane and then wake to a nice light morning breakfast prior to landing. Sleep is important on these flights for me (even though I rarely get any).

As a person born and raised in Greece, 10:30 isn't that far off my normal dinner time.

Mostly out of necessity (when I leave work), I have become a late dinner eater, so a 10:30 p.m. dinner is not too bad for me. I'd just assume eat the free meal on the plane than pay for one that I otherwise would not have to buy.

I really cannot sleep on planes, especially on early evening departures to Europe (the flight arrives at my normal bed time and I am not, sadly, able to sleep on demand), so the meal helps pass the time.
