the most boring city you've ever been

I don't know if this has been posted before, but I was wondering what would be for you the most boring city where you've ever been. No matter how beautiful or gorgeous they were you thought there was not much to do apart from wandering around and then when all shops were closed it seemed like you were in a ghost town.

My top 5 would be:

1. QUEBEC CITY, Canada
2. CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand
3. LUXEMBOURG CITY, Luxembourg
4. CARCASSONE, France
5. ROTTERDAM, Netherlands

I understand though. It is a great place to live, but it isn't really set up with many out of the ordinary touristy things.

I am really sorry if you took it personally but when I was there I just thought that even though there were nice areas in the city there was not much to do apart from wandering around. And after shops closed there did not seem to be many people around, so I felt kinda boring there. Sorry.

1) Igoumenitsa, Greece (were it not for the port that controls traffic to Corfu and Italy it wouldn't exist)
2) Calais, France (another port city, REALLY ugly!)
3) Northampton, England (cafs close at 15:30 on a weekday!)
4) Milano, Italy (it may be touristy and trendy but in reality it has very little to offer...probably unless you are into shopping)

Pittsburgh, PA. Hands down, the most boring, ugliest city I've ever visited.

1. Does Bakersfield, CA qualify as a "city" ????
2. Fresno, CA (the gateway to Bakersfield, by-the-way...)

Heh, I spent a few weeks in Bakersfield, CA, and besides visiting the Air Force Base (and hopefully catching a extremely rare occasion where the Space Shuttle might land there), there isn't a heck of a lot to do there unless you like looking at oil refineries...

In addition, I nominate El Paso, TX as a pretty boring place as well.

Lulea, North Sweden in Feb. It's cold and not much is going on. The one good thing was an excellent chinese restaurant called the Waldorf.

Panama City, FL. Nothing to do but golf and get drunk and I'm not very good at either.

1. Southampton, UK - got sod all going for it, I'm only here because of the University
2. Swindon, UK - the original dull city
3. Swansea, UK - had to stay here for a Geography trip, a godawful place
4. Birmingham, UK - always look dull as dishwater when I drive through it

1. Hilo, Hawai'i...
2. Hilo, Hawai'i
3. Hilo, Hawai'i.

I'm telling you folks, it doesn't get much more boring than this (if the "hippest" thing for teenagers to do is to go to Borders and then shop at WalMart -- since they're all on the same block).

aloha
