Each time I got or renewed a passport it has been "just in time" - a day or so before it get used. My current one is only 8 months old (out of 10 year period) but already starting to look quite battered and doesnt scan properly :(

Among my favourites are...Zimbabwe, Mali (with a separate stamp that you get from the police station inTimbuktu!) Ghana, Indonesia, Iran (not so good because I tend to be questioned about why we went whenever any passport control people notice it) Tanzania, Mozambique (great car going in and car in the opposite direction when you leave) Armenia (their script is really different) Zambia and South Africa.

Russia, USA, Canada, India, Pakistan, Morocco, Malaysia, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Poland, Turkey, Thailand, New Zealand, Peru, Bolivia.

That'd be 21 then.

Scary thing is, only CZ, HU and PL are actually for work. It's both a blessing and a shame so many countries no longer stamp my passport (EU/EEA notably, including all the new members).

oontiveros May 11, 2004 3:18 pm

Lets see, mine (US passport) was issued in 1995 and has 4 inserts of 22 pages each, in addition to the 21 pages...I have 8 pages left free...getting worried as I have long term visas in this passport and I don't think they can fit any more inserts in. Just a hassle to get a new passport and reissue/move the LT visas.

As for countries:

Japan
Turkey
Singapore
Malaysia
USA (quite a few I don't know why)
UK
Romania
Mexico
Venezuela
Bulgaria
Philippines
Germany
Peru
Austria
Hong Kong
Cambodia
Argentina
Macau
Czechoslovakia
Spain
Belgium
Netherlands
Korea
Cyprus
Taiwan ROC
Indonesia
Lebanon
Thailand
Israel
Macedonia
Serbia/FRY (before Nato)
Canada (Calgary for work permit and Montreal as they pulled me and questioned me as if a terrorist)
Ukraine
Hungary
Vietnam
Denmark
China
Colombia
Australia
India
Russia
Poland
Azerbaijan
Kazakhstan
Nigeria
Kenya
South Africa
Chile

And of course have travelled to other European countries who do not stamp...which is great...unfortunately, many countries still require a full page visa...

Where do you get the UK exit stamp from? We haven't had any exit immigration checks for years....

Globaliser May 26, 2004 4:35 am

My new passport's very boring, only just over 6 months old and only has the usual assortment of US, Australian and NZ stamps, plus an entry/exit pair from HK on the one trip when I didn't use my HK identity card.

But my most recent old one had stamps from all seven continents, which was an unexpectedly achieved target.

shuuy May 26, 2004 7:45 am

The Airport Canadian one has a Maple Leaf Border (as mentioned above),

However my Canadian passport now never gets stamped when I go CAN-US-CAN, or Somewhere else-CAN. Instead, they just stamp my declaration card. Any reason why?

100% leisure travel  except for two trips as a student to Korea. Yes, I thank the gods above every day that my employer lets me take so much paid vacation: :D

Korea (2 flavors of visa and tons o' stamps)
Indonesia ('00)
Thailand ('00)
China ('02)
French Polynesia ('02)
-(about here is where I stopped studying and started workin for the man)-
Spain ('03)
Denmark ('03)
UK ('03)
Sweden ('03)
Iceland ('03)
Italy ('03)
India ('04 - a bajillion stamps for restricted inner borders in the NE hill states)
Bangladesh ('04)
UAE ('04)
Oman ('04)

I'm going to Canada this week and Costa Rica in three weeks and I have one spot left for a stamp unless I can convice them not to give me any (the Germans and Norwegians in particular are always really nice about this and don't stamp when I ask them not to), or get them to use the notes pages. Damn extra pages fee... The killer are those full page visas.

peace,
~Ben~

A few years ago, I got a stamp from Hungary. It didn't have any words on it. It was simply a wheel with an arrow pointing to a date. One could have this kind of rubber stamp made at Office Depot!

I added more pages to my 1999 passport recently giving me 96 visa pages now. I've been to about 80 countries. Just did Jordan this week and my next new country will be Camaroon.
