Restaurant in Krakow

I am going to be in Krakow for an evening and would like some restaurant suggestions. Where else would I be able to ask this question and know I will get a helpful answer!

Thanks in advance,

I was in Krakow at New Year and had a great time. Sadly, too much booze has dulled my memory and I can't remember anywhere we ate! :)

However, the is a superb guidebook series called 'In your pocket', available thoughout the city that gives some sound advice.

you can even check out the menu online

I had a great meal at this restaurant. I believe I went to the one on Sw.Jana street. right off Rynek (town square), its small and you will love the decor.

It was also voted as the best restaurant in Poland, so reservations are necessary

Enjoy Krakow, its an awesome city!

Krakow is great. From a pretzel on the street to packi. I never had a bad meal in Poland. It amazing you can find Chinese, Italian, Irish pubs all of which have great food, drink , and conversation. If you need a tour or driver this guy is the best. He can help with hotel, food, everything. The salt mines are worth the trip! Poland has excellent beer also! The drivers name is Andrew! http://ceti.pl/source

Last spring, I had a surprisingly good Italian meal at an restaurant right on the main square. It was on the southeast corner of the main square, but I cannot remember the name for the life of me.

Although it was cheap, there are much cheaper places if you wander a bit further afield from that main square...

It's been a couple of years since I was in Krakow, but I really enjoyed the dinners I had at Balaton (Hungarian) and Pod Sloncem (Polish). Both of these are listed in the In Your Pocket Guide mentioned above.

Great advice! With Starwood opening their Sheraton Krakow soon, I've made a reservation for mid June. :D
