Aloha does not get the HNL-SNA-DCA routes... I think AQ will provide a much better service than any other major US airlines. I guess it does not have enough "congress" muscles to fight for these slots.

Alaska has already submitted an official press release. Starting on June 7...

I wonder why they awarded DEN slots to both Frontier and United. I can see it difficult to market the new flight when the competitor has twice as many. And it would have been much nicer to see SFO service start up instead of more DEN service.

All make sense except for Alaska. Where are you going to connect to? Portland or Seattle?

United or American to LAX would have made a lot more sense, but again this is the DOT we are talking about

Comair Announcement
 

Comair announced that they will use their slots to initiate service to LEX, effective June 15th. One R/T flight per day.

I'm very disappointed as well to hear AQ never received their slot. Guess SNA was just not an eye opener. Would have really loved to see the Bird of Paradise flying on the East Coast though. Hopefully the near future will see such. :)

Good news for those of us flying DTW-DCA. NW tends to match Spirit's prices to LGA, TPA, LAX, etc., but it'll be interesting to see how much impact Spirit's 1 flight a day will have on the prices of NW's 9 flights per day (maybe just match fares on flights in similar time frame).

AA vs AS to LAX
 

Believe it or not, Alaska claims to be able to connect passengers to 17 domestic points over LAX while American's application only mentioned 13 domestic points. Also, American can already connect to 8 of their 13 points via existing service to inside-perimeter hubs and they are by no means a "new entrant/limited incumbent or low-fare price competitor."
