Shanghai

Hi guys !

First of all, thanks for such a great board !

Maybe I`m showing my newbie status with this question...

I`m going to Shanghai at the end of May and when I booked my hotel it said it was close to the HongQiao Airport.

When I got my tickets today it said I will be arriving at Pu Dong airport....

Is this the same airports ?

Thanks

Hi

PuDong is the new airport (way) out of town whereas HongQiao is the older one which pretty much only hanldes domestic flights. If they ever get the new rail system running it is supposed to be only 10 minutes to downtown. Otherwise it's 45 minutes in no traffic (hah!) or if you are arriving at peak times, bring a book. Or six.

cheers
J

no, that's 10 minutes to the longyang road subway station + 20 minutes in a taxi. ime traffic is never that much of an issue to/from pvg. i usually take the #2 bus from jingan temple. the longest it's ever taken me has been around 55 minutes (shortest 35 minutes).
