EZE - MVD

Reading about the cheapest F class ticket between cities in the UA forum got me to thinking. I will be travelling to both these cities using an award later in the year. I plan to fly from the U.S. to BA and spend some time in Argentina, then travel to Uruguay and fly home from Montevideo. However, what is the most reasonable way to get from BA to Montevideo in the middle of my trip? Many years ago I took an overnight ferry. I have heard there is now a hydrofoil? Has anyone experienced this or can someone advise me as to the most reasonable way to travel between the two cities?

A one-way flight can be had for as little as US$91.00 on Aerolineas Argentinas.

More information about the ferry and the hydrofoil can be found here.

I apologize for taking greater than three years to answer your question, ILuvParis, but somebody had to do it...

Classic.

Check out Buquebus = boat and boat/bus. Also, check out Colonia for a day trip in Uruguay too.

Doesn't AA have 5th freedom EZE-MVD? Though AEP-MVD (Pluna, AR?) would be easier.

Last year we did the UA First Class 777 (nearly empty and took 15 mins or something) one way and Buquebus = boat and boat/bus the other.

THE cheapest Duty Free on earth, I swear. Scotch at well under 10 bucks a litre.

I don't think TravelBuzz gets archived the way MilesBuzz, OMNI, and the individual airline forums do. It doesn't appear in the FT Archives forum.
