Well according to the Travelers Century Club, I've been to 152 Countries/Territories. Take away 34 territories it comes out to 118 . I did it before I turned 50 years old becoming a ''Silver Member.''

On ''Most Traveled People'' that site I've been to over 200 of the 855 known places noted on their site.

I'm adding two this week: Qatar and Sri Lanka.

(I'm adhering to the International Travel News list of 196 independent nations and not counting dependencies like Sint Maarten / St. Martin, etc.)

Interesting, I hadn't seen this list before. Looks like the UN 193 + Vatican + Kosovo + Taiwan.

Curious their reasons for including Taiwan but not Palestine.

Good point about Palestine; I may have to ask ITN when I return.

International Travel News offers nice certificates for a nominal fee (USD $7.00 all in) here.

I've moved my original post and updated it (map to be updated when I return from Qatar and Sri Lanka.

With a little brain cell sorting, and not including dependencies or the standalone continent claimed by many, Antarctica (I've been to all seven continents), Lady JDiver has seven more than I do, including Belorus, Iran, Iraq and Syria!). I'll hit 101 this week. And Lady JDiver has made a clean sweep of all countries beginning with the letter "I": Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy.

To add a box and numbers, I've used [code] to wrap[list=1] with[*] at each name and ended with [ /list]and [ /code] (no space between the / and the word). This will auto number and auto space your list, put it into a scrolling box to take up less post real estate.

Code:
  1. Albania
  2. Andorra
  3. Antigua and Barbuda
  4. Argentina
  5. Aruba*

You can organise a personal map here: http://www.world66.com/

OK, some may agree or disagree with a "country" definition, as there are several out there - but I have listed those entities treated as countries by international treaties, but not single dependencies within (e.g. Yap, Bonaire, etc.)

That is odd, as the United Nations recognizes Palestine. It would be sad if this group has biased politics. If anyone understands the futility of that it would be global travelers!

Can't agree on the certificates - looks like a cheap gimmick that anyone could reproduce at home
