I am a minor leaguer here. I have only visited 36 countries from the list.

PS...too lazy to list them.

Hey, I'm working on it, OK?

It's easier to say which countries I haven't been to yet...

The former Soviet countries (I've only been to mother Russia)
The middle countries of Africa. (I've only been to the north and south, although I plan to rectify that in a couple of months)
The little Pacific island countries.
Pakistan & India (although I have been to Sri Lanka!)

I'm pretty sure I've done the rest.

Let's all remember that Hong Kong is now part of China, but Taiwan is not. Go figure.

I only have about 15 countries, but wonder if anyone here belongs the 'Century Club'? This is an organization that requires, as an admission requirement, that its members have visited at least 100 countries.

They list 340 different coutries for their purposes.

Bill Morrow. Yes I am WELL aware of the "Century Club".

I applied to join it once I passed 100 countries visited and could not believe many of the absurd "countries" they allowed - as per the list that you post, and thus decided against doing it.

A old client of mine in Melbourne (the late) Arthur Jonas applied to join it some time back and said he'd visited over 200 "real" countries. He got a cynical snooty letter back 'doubting that very sincerely' as THEIR most hallowed and travelled member, (some Texam tychoon) did not even have that tally. Arthur simply mailed them all his customs entry stamped expired passports by Registered Post and they backed right off.

As per my original post above, the "Century Club" lists a large number of totally absurd and fictional "countries" such as Tasmania, Sabah, Johnson Island, Chilean South Pole, Easter Island, Galapagos Islands, TWO "Turkeys", Hawaii, Alaska, Kalimatan, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland etc. As it happens I have visited all of those places too, but would never count them in any tally.

I have so far visited around 130 "real" countries, and all continents, and regard that as being about half way there, based on 250 being around the "correct" number.

Me too!

While many colleagues and friends truly think that I've already been everywhere, I'd looked up the list now posted in the other thread alluded to by Glen in an effort to ascertain if, in fact, barring any "in transit" stops, I'd truly even been to half of the worlds' countries!

As it turns out, having done most all the "easy" ones, I'm still a bit shy of half!

Moreover, I've yet to visit Antarctica, and astoundingly, Alaska!

While these trips will not add to my genuine country total, I "vow" to "fix" this ASAP!

Considering I've only visited 7 countries, I think that makes me (so far) officially the lowest number here:

Australia
Canada
Germany
Mexico
New Zealand
UK
USA

France gets added in a few weeks and Bahamas early next year.
