Fung Wah Bus & Other Chinatown Bus Companies Under Investigation
Saw on the News tonight... NYPD have been stopping every "Chinatown Bus" for safety inspections & insurance inspections.
15 of the 100 busses stopped were taken off the road because of safety violations.
Manhattan DA says 3 murders this year are related to the intense competition between these bus companies.
I don't know if I'd still consider these bus companies as a viable alternative between DC/NYC/Boston anymore.

There was a newspaper article in Philadelphia Inquirer a few months ago about the violence between dueling companies.

And check out the customers' reviews!

I particularly enjoyed the one about "BYOC" (bring your own chair)!

Ever have one of these busses come raoaring up behind you at rush hour and then try to squeeze around you in the breakdown lane?
No thank you, after seeing the way they drive a couple days a week I wouldn't ever consider riding them.

I've wondered who they hire as their drivers since my friend took them to BOS to visit me...
He showed up about two hours late. Said everything was fine until they got to Boston. The apparently didn't know where in Boston Chinatown was. Drove to the airport, drove from the airport. Drove around and around. The trip finally came to an end somewhere near Brookline when the driver tried to go under a bridge with insufficient clearance, and the bus got stuck. The pax all walked to the nearest green line T stop to continue their jounry.
