Airline route maps

Are there any sites out there that have good airline route maps (ala from the inflight magazines)? Travel.com.au has some but most are out of date or bad quality scans.

at one time I was looking for the same thing (a centralized database of route maps), and as far as I know there is nothing.

I wanted to try to make an online (web based) dynamic route-map generator based on the databases from the people at www.goldenware.com (the people who publish many of the airlines' online timetables), but they were totally not co-operative (I needed to get the structure of their database files).

If anybody out there has any contacts with the goldenware people and can help, please let me know. I still think it would be cool...

This is a superior idea.

If we can keep this thread alive, and enough interest is generated, could it become a reality? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsup.gif

I have figured out the format of their database files.. just for personal usage. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/smile.gif

So.. we should setup a database of airlines, anyone who takes a flight grab the inflight magazine and scan it in.

If you're going to use TAP Air Portugal's in-flight route map, you'll probably want to make some adjustments.

I had to laugh during a recent LGW-LIS flight: their U.S. route map (all except EWR are on partner airlines), places CVG in southern Illinois and CLE in northern Michigan.

Has anything come of this? Im very interested in making a personal route map. I was just going to cut and paste a map from the Internet and use the basic Paint feature on my computer to draw lines between the cities. I'd love to have something of better quality!

Anybody still interested??

Maps

There are some great sites, mostly for travel agents, that offer dynamic route maps.

Check out:

I would very much like to see this. The global alliances need to do it. If they can produce dynamic timetables, why not dynamic route maps?

Thanks, that site is great. Is there a way to print all of the routes that are available. Also, how would one go about creating a similar map for their personal routes.

Thanks!
