Shouldn't have a problem checking in early, even if the room is not ready, meaning they will take your credit card number, etc. They will give you a room number (maybe even a key). You can simply dump your luggage with the bellman, and they will bring it up when your room is finally ready.

Problem with the Venetian is most of the rooms do not have a good view of ANYTHING. Those that face the pool/Treasure Island are the 'good' views. Otherwise, it is parking garage/sidewalk view...

Your Priceline room will be for a room with a single king bed, and all the rooms at the Venetian have a couch with a fold out bed as well. The first step 'upgrade' at the Venetian is to a room with two queens (and the fold out couch).

From the airport, take a cab, shuttle busses will stop at every hotel on the strip before yours (and take at least an hour), don't buy the return ticket because the shuttles never take you back either. If the taxi line is long, often you can rent a limo right outside the baggage claim (negotiate directly with the driver) for an hour for $35-45. If you are really cheap, you can take your limo to Wal-Mart (on Tropicana, about a 5 minute ride from the airport) and buy yourself drinks/snacks for the room, then drive on to the hotel.

Consider renting a car, Las Vegas has some of the cheapest car rental rates in the US, and navigating isn't too hard. All the hotels/casinos have valet parking, so it is easy to get in and out.

Hope this helps!

(free shuttle to the airport in Vegas... good one!!) Seriously, almost every other city in the states has airport transport, Vegas has to be the biggest place (that I go to anyway) that doesn't. How many millions were spent on the monorail that doesn't go to the airport.... oh wait, the one in Miami doesn't go to the airport either....

I arrived at 9;00am 2 weeks ago on a Wednesday and was immediately checked into a room. I think it depends how full the hotel is and what day you arrive.
