vancouver airport??

yes, theres another stimulating question for you... does anyone know their way around the vancouver airport- enough to let me know if an hour and a half is enough time to get to international departures-going to australia? ESPECIALLY if i dont know my way around YVR at ALL? directions are also welcome.. any help is appreciated-again, i'm rather inexperienced.

YVR is not a large airport. Basically one old terminal where all the domestic flights are, and the new international terminal. You can walk back and forth a few times in 1.5 hours. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...um/biggrin.gif

Although the answer is almost certainly yes, it would help if we knew where you were coming from.

We also need to know what airlines and where you are going to, on the next stop, as there are no non-stop flights between Vancouver and Australia. If you are going on Air Canada, then you will depart from the US transborder terminal to Honolulu, then continuing on to Sydney.

If that's the case, depending upon your nationality, the US terror level, and other factors, 1.5 hours might be tight.

In short, we need to have your actual itinerary to give a definitive answer.

sorry, i forgot about that---i'm comming from calgary-on ZIP which is a part of air canada, so does this mean i'm going to be short on time?

and you're right again... i am stopping in honolulu, but apparently it's just a stop-no time to get off

If you have checked baggage you will need to re-claim it and hand carry it through US immigration and customs again. Once you clear that you deposit it on a belt and then clear the AIF checkpoint and security screening.

The unknown is the time it will take to clear US officialdom. If there's no line up you'll be fine. But if there's a long line or increased security measures in place, you might be short of time. If this is the case, flag down an AC employee and tell them your flight number and departure time. They will "expedite" you to the front of the line if it's getting close.

Also the baggage carousel for all connections to Trans-Border flight is near the Transborder check-in and NOT in the standard domestic baggage claim area.
