Which airline, and what is your status with that airline? Both matter.

In general, the limits are on the airline's website, but if you tell us which somebody knows for sure here.

I ask for Y on either AA or Alaska or any other airline that will fly LAX-SJD-LAX in August.

From my other thread:
Has anyone already found a good deal from LAX to SJD ?
I'll fly in August, we are three or four travellers.

Which airlines fly there ?

Alaska, American and ... ???

No Star Alliance carrier to SJD after the departure of Mexicana ???

I also want to know which carrier from LAX to SJD will take a suitcase and golfbag of checked luggage at no extra charge on cheap eco flights!

Help yourself! This information is readily available on airline web sites or by calling the airlines.

grouse, the longer I have been lurking (and posting) on FlyerTalk, the more I recognized that I can trust (most) of the informations posted here much more than what individual airline representatives know, and also what official airline websites don't tell me.

FlyerTalk is also a prefect medium to equal costumer knowledge versus airline-'monopolies' .

Rudi's statement is spot on IMO! And yes, I tried the search function e.g. for TravelBuzz and came up with a few baggage related threads. Unfortunately most were international travel in topic or for special cases or C or F.

I inquire here about plain Y, no status, in north America.

You're welcome! Now you know why no one replied before. If you have trouble finding the appropriate information on AA's web site let me know.

As for Rudi's point, I entirely agree. But there are some things that are easier to just find on a web site. Personally I would only be able to find the answer to the OP's request by looking it up and there's no reason the OP shouldn't do it themself.

Of course I know it now thanks to a private e-mail. It is 2 pieces under 50lbs on both AA and Alaska.

grouse, what are you trying to achieve with your extremely clever and unhelpful posts ?

All you do is make me a bit disgruntled.

Actually I originally posted in regards to your "bump, please help me." It was an attempt to explain why no one had been posting. Otherwise I would have just ignored (and did ignore) this post.

It was also a gentle reminder that there are ways of finding this information that would have saved you days and time in getting it. This point seems to have been missed.

Grouse, could you please direct me to a way to find the cost of an extra piece of up to 32kg luggage on a transatlantic flight, by mileage, ticket price, or point to point(to or from IAD preferred) or whatever formula is used, as I cannot.

On AA it is on their web site at Customer Service > Baggage > Baggage Allowance. You can also call them to confirm this.

As far as I know Alaska does not fly transatlantic but I am no expert on Alaska.
