NYC Restaurant Recommendations?
Any recommendations for Sat night dinner in general times square area? Staying at the Westin Times Square.
Would love something with an asian influence, or nouvelle but not fussy ... we're on somewhat of a low carb regime so pasta etc is out ... |
Post this same query on the Manhattan board at http://www.chowhound.com and you'll get tons of responses.

Sushi - http://www.minado.com/

Tao.
No exactly Times Square but a short 5 minute taxi. |
Redeye Grill on the northwest corner of 7th Avenue and West 56th Street (about a frigid - but neat - 15 minute walk uptown from Times Square). It's not an Asian specialry restaurant, but it's got phenomenal sushi.

Ruby Foos is an Asian place in the general area. Pretty interesting place along the lines of what you want.

Good (not spectacular) Chinese at Ollie's Noodle Shop and Grill - 200 W. 44 Street
Lots of non-noodle meat, poultry and seafood dishes if you want to avoid the rice and wheat content in the noodles. |

Wu5 Liang2 Ye4, on 48th Street.

For Asian trendy, you can try the Blue Fin at the W. A bit pricy but it is a fun ambience.
If you like Thai food, I love Pongsri on 48th near 8th Ave. May not look too fancy but it is delicious. |
Also another trendy Asian outift would be 66. At 241 Church Street not anywhere near TS. Vong on 200 E 54th would be Thai food of the same chef. Chef rarely on location for booth IMHO. Chef being Jean Georges.

Don't know whether 'A Dish of Salt' is still around, but I ate three outstanding meals there during a few month stint about five years ago.
