Hidden Small Museums of the Low Countries
Are there any especially good and unknown museums you can recommend in the low countries. I'm interested in VanDyck and the Golden Age.

Off Herrengracht in AMS there's a wonderful little museum called "Het Kattenkabinet" which is all about cats. Some very nice cats work there too.
I can't remember who any of the paintings are by however. [Edited when I reread you post & realised you were interested in specific artists.] [This message has been edited by chartreuse (edited Jan 11, 2004).] |
Museum St. Catharina Gasthuis in Gouda (art)
Museumstoomtram in Hoorn (steam trains) |
Mauritshuis in The Hague is by far my favorite. It is beautifully located right in the centre of the city. Famous for Vermeer, Rembrandt, Potter, Ruisdael and many more Golden Age painters. I am not sure if there are any Van Dijcks, but it is definitely worth a visit.
