Which arrondisement in Paris is the most expensive in which to live and which has the most expensive hotels?

Bercy is a region of Paris I assume, but which arrondisement is Bercy? What is Bercy known for?

The most "expensive" part of Paris, will be around the Champs Elysees. There you have some very expensive hotels, and certainely all the most expensive shops of Paris (mainly fashion).
Hotels in general are certainely not cheap in Paris. Housing is also expensive.
Because of the dense subway system (RATP and RER), it is not so important in which area of town you are : you can easily reach other areas easily.
I am only visiting Paris from time to time, for business, so my knowledge is not very detailed.

We recently discussed the price of Parisian real estate by arrondissement in the Paris travel forum (if my memory is correct, the 6th and 7th arrondissements are the most expensive for real estate, followed by the 5th, the 4th, the 1st, the 16th and the 8th, in that order):

The most expensive hotels are in the 8th and the 1st arrondissements (Champs-Elysées/Arc de Triomphe/Avenue Montaigne/Fbg. Saint-Honoré/Place Vendome/Tuileries/etc.).

Bercy is an area in the middle of the 12th arrondissement in the eastern end of Paris, near the Gare de Lyon train station. It is mixed residential and business and light industrial, with quite a few good restaurants and shopping streets; it is neither high-rent nor low-rent, except for the areas near the Bois de Vincennes park which is on the far eaxtern border of the arrondissement.

The monstrous Ministry of Finance building is the largest landmark in the neighborhood (it is often referred to simply as "Bercy") and it is on the banks of the Seine next to the multi-purpose Palais Omnisports (ice skating, tennis, concerts) and its large park. The fairly recent National Library is just across the river in the 13th arrondissement.
