Best value for RTW first class

I have researched for about a year and my best bet is Virgin as far as I can tell.
Does anyone have a better value?

depends on what you want - virgin can't get you round the world..
you need to give more info - where you want to go - and you country of departure

- start in the star alliance and Oneworld forums and go from there.

Could be wrong here, but isn't Upper Class considered to be a business class product (albeit a good one) rather than a first class product?

Just about the cheapest (perhaps not the best value) for an RTW in F is currently on OneWorld originating in Cairo (CAI). BA and CX in F (and AA in 3 class F) is good value if you ask me.

I like the Upper Class as well but my main question now is how do you have a ticket from Cairo when I live in the US?

My home airport is AUS and we will travel to HKG then Berlin then London then NY then back home.

You could get an award ticket to/from CAI or buy a revenue ticket to/from CAI; the F fare savings are substantial (several thousand dollars) over originating in Western Hemisphere or anywhere else.

are you talking about the escapade fare with SQ, virgin etc..
if so. i looked into that fare and i beleive you will be better off getting that for the few places you want to go.
or even get a single tickets.
can you buy a return to london on cathay,
then get a rtn to berlin from london,
it's about £70

Very interesting!
Escepade fares...are those listed on the web sites or should I call SQ/Virgin?
Thanks, ajinlondon!

www.thegreatescapade.com

but this seems to be only uk prices.. maybe they don't do a US??? but i can't see why not

edited to add- check the sq website under promotions - round the world..
the above fare is $4620 - and you would fly upper class on virgin and biz for the rest

RTW tix are cheaper just about everywhere on the planet except US/CA/MX.

Often it's cheaper to buy a cheap OW to LON or BKK, (BKK's a safer bet due to their exchange rate remaining solid while the USD fell) do the RTW and set your home airport as a destination and just ditch the return to LON.

It's contingent on what you really want to see, ie see more of Asia and not as much of Europe/South Amer, do it from LON, want to see everywhere else but Asia, do it from BKK.

AKL is another cheap site for RTW tix but getting there from the US can be costly.
