Vacation Help-- Please Vote
 

In my true self I am waiting until the last minute to plan my trip over new year's. I have narrowed the choices down to :

1) St. Kitts and Nevis
2) Curacao
3) Aruba

Deciding factors will include a good beach, good outdoor activities (hiking, biking, etc.) and a fantastic nightlife.

Please help me decide! Majority rules!

Having been to Curacao (8 years ago) and Aruba (this summer) and reading up on St. Kitts (going over Christmas), I would pick Aruba. Party bus makes the rounds through the bars, friendly people, casinos, scuba diving, golf, 4-wheeling, GREAT BEACH, etc.

Curacao - much more laid back with much less nightlife.

St. Kitts - good family place, so-so beaches and no nightlife to speak of. They have their Carnival from Christmas to past New Years, but I've heard that this isn't as neat as a Carnival somewhere else.

For a first timer - Aruba, for all the reasons noted by M2swim.

FYI: There was a round-up of many of these islands in Fridays' USA today. You might ask around to see who still has a copy.

Curacao is VERY laid back -- spent 12 days there in March.

St. Kitts is prettier (imho) in that it has greenery -- whereas Curacao is dry and flat (but wonderful prices and diving).

Haven't been to Aruba yet, but I'm sure it's great and sounds like what you're looking for.

Hope you can get reservations this late!

For New Year's, gotta go Aruba...

For a more laid back type of holiday, I'd probably go St. Kitt's.

Now all I have to do is run it by the lady-friend....

The only real outdoor activity (other than lying on the beach) on Aruba is wind-surfing, which is world-class. But the island is flat and dry, no hiking, no snorkelling to speak of....
