hotels in Bruges

Does anyone have any views of the respective merits of Die Swaene, De Snippe, and De Orangerien? I've read some previous posts on the first two, but nothing comparing them (is Bruges one of those places one rarely revisits?) and nothing on the last. Any comments would be appreciated.

rfrost,

We stayed at a B and B several years ago. Spend a minimum of 3 days in town. It's delightful. You can also rent bikes and ride the paths along the water near windmills.
There's a beer factory in town that gives tours. They give the tour in 4 languages. By the time they get to English, you're anticipating the joke since all the other folks were laughing by the time the guide finished the story in their language.

Drink beer.
Have mussels.
Eat waffles.
Enjoy chocolate.
Sample pastries.

While I enjoyed Bruges well enough, I wouldn't make a special trip to go back. I thought it basically just a tourist town. That doesn't mean you shouldn't go there though. I stayed at De Snippe, which I'd recommend but can't compare it to the others.
