new 777 engines

I read this story about new 777 engines:
http://www.techreview.com/articles/innovation41103.asp
that give a fully loaded 777 a range of 16,700 kilometers.

Is that enough to fly boston to india nonstop? I hate being restricted by european landing times.

Presumably it's referring to the GE90-115B engines. It's being used on the 777-300ER (being flight-tested right now) and the 777-200LR (development has resumed after being halted for nearly 2 years). The -200LR will easily be able to do U.S-India non-stop (CO does an even-longer JFK-HKG with a standard -200ER). I think I think only BR has right now.

As for BOS, Logan has short runways that prevents (economical?) operation to Asia (such as NRT).
