One World Explorer rule changes

I was recently told by the AA OneWorld RTW fare desk that the rules have changed and that effective April 15 you can now only fly a total of 20 sectors on any OW Explorer ticket (regardless of number of continents or class) - does anyone know if this is true or is it just AA once again making up rules to avoid dealing with OW tickets - I asked BA and CX and they had not heard this - aked LA as well but they still dont even know what One World is!
Also does anyone know where you can get a full up to date list of OW RTW rules? The OW sight only has partial rules and the fewmiles OW site is out of date.

Yes it is certainly true (post April 15 ticketed itinereries). This has been extensively discussed in the OneWorld forum:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum83/HTML/001480.html .

Net effect is that it has devalued the worth of ONE5 and ONE6 fares....

Thanks for the response - just got it - am using my DONE4 now in chile. This is a pretty big blow - the past comments are excatly on - there is no point to the one5 and one6 fares now. Interestingly in May I got a BA ticket agent at a US airport to reissue an AONE4 with more than 20 sectors that I had purchased post April 15 - guess i got lucky

Got another question - AA tells me that you can not upgrade any ONE sector unless it is on an AA operated flight and using AAvantage miles - Again this one is new to me (CX &BA have been happy to upgrade in the past) I ahve a copy of the IATA ONE fare rules and it makes no mention of this restriction but it is dated Oct 2002 - have you or anyone else heard of this? My experience with AA is yes there RTW desk is efficient (in a relative sense) but they also seem to have rules and restrictions that other carrier donīt ahve (like your entire RTW itinerary must be on one PNR -even after changes -just try changing an LA booking at LA with a AA PNR).

Thanks again
