Qld resort advice
 

I am taking my gf to Aus for the first time to meet the parents. As part of the trip I want to take her somewhere up north in Qld to relax and show her the reef etc...

My requirements are:
- easy to get to (at most one plane(QF) change from SYD/MEL or plane/boat combo)
- not too big (eg Hamilton Island) and somewhat intimate
- nice accomodation on beach or close to beach with pool
- ability to visit reef to snorkel/dive.

I have considered Hayman, Port Douglas. Don't know much about but would consider Dunk, Daydream, Bedara, Fraser Islands. Any other suggestions?

Perhaps the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas.
