That is very odd. Usually, the thread remains in the forum it is moved from but is locked from posting. Are you sure you just didn't lose track of it???

The one about the suitcase? I was going to suggest www.tumi.com but I don't recall if they ship Intl or not.

Just trying to see if I can get this post in before this thread is closed. I am sure that time will arrive soon.

Is this the same topic that is double posted with one locked and this one open?

A moderator locked my thread because someone else posted the same info. I posted first, but he/she closed my thread and not the other's. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/frown.gif

I've had the same thing happen to me here...to add insult to injury, the other thread (cargo plane accident) was misposted in the News Affecting Frequent Flyers forum.

And now we have threads about curry restaurants there...vital news for frequent flyers.

Nine posts above and I have no clue what any of you are posting about.

Maybe a hint at WHAT the thread was called might be a decent idea? http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/wink.gif

Since we seem to have your attention, perhaps you would grace us with some guidelines for determining what goes in TravelBuzz vs. In The News: News That Affects Frequent Flyers?

I, for one, am puzzled how stories such as fatalities resulting from a military transport's cargo door failing or a new curry house in London belong in the FF news section.

The former seems to fit better in TravelBuzz, and the latter certainly seems a perfect choice for In the News: Dining.

Some guidance so I don't waste my time posting in the wrong forum would be appreciated.

I never find it helpful to generalize about people or judging a whole group of people out of a few (questionable) incidents.

As a moderator (KLM and community) I put some serious work into that honorary post and try to answer some 10-20 private mails a day. It's not nice to have to read 'moderators are a pest' then.

So if you have a point against a closed or moved thread please discuss that in a proper tone and with a little bit more than just a hint so that others can not follow or only guess about the accusations you make.

And even if there really is a cause to be so upset then please remember that moderators are just board-members appointed by Randy to help others and look after some basic rules - and can also make mistakes from time to time.

When you post a story in the In The News forum, your first post has to include a URL from a news story. The discussion focuses on discussing the news story and related opinions.

When you post on TravelBuzz!, you post questions or comments that relate to Travel but not miles-earning and generally not carrier-specific questions (e.g. "how do I upgrade a W fare basis on UAL, that belongs in United, etc.)
