Transit at CDG from Terminal 2D to Terminal 1
I am booked to arrive into CDG Terminal 2D on Air France from Strasbourg, and I have another flight with Iberia 2 hours later from Terminal 1. Do you think this is possible? Is there enough time to collect baggage and check-in for the MAD flight? Are there regular buses between the two terminals and where can one find them?
THanks very much in advance. PS I have searched all over the CDG website to know avail, including in French ('correspondence'). |
You can have your bags checked through from Strasbourg to Madrid even if you are on separate tickets because AF and IB have an interline baggage handling agreement. All you have to do in that case is to get yourself from T2D to T1 for which 2 hours is not a problem at all.

There are buses that run between the two terminals frequently that you catch inside. There should be marked signs around T2 showing where the boarding gate for the buses are. 2 hours is plenty of time as well, infact it is about 2 hours too long at that terrible airport.

The English version of the CDG website does not mirror the French one...
CDG landside shuttle bus schedule and routes Take the #1 bus. It leaves from the curb (not 'inside'), between terminals 2B and 2D. This means you will have to walk to the 'right' end of 2D upon exiting the secure area. I don't think there is an airside T1-T2 bus for Schengen transfers. |
Thanks very much guys for this information. It is a great help for me going to an airport with such a terrible reputation.
I forgot to ask if any one had had experiences of any of the OneWorld lounges at CDG (if indeed IB have one, or is it only BA)? |
