Flight cancellations/changes

Has anyone had this problem? We are flying from Boston to London 27 June on Virgin Atlantic and then to Scotland for a week (EasyJet) and then to France for a week (Air France). I made the flight arrangements myself in March. About 6 weeks ago, I discovered that Virgin changed our arrival airport from Gatwick to Heathrow, a real nuisance since all of my connections were out of Gatwick. Not to mention that I had not been notified! I made all the necessary changes, including paying an additional $127 to EasyJet for changes, only to find out TWO DAYS AGO that our flight on Air France was cancelled, and again, we were never notified. I have spent the last two days re-doing our connections and can't get from London to Clarmont-Ferrand on Air France without an overnight!! Ryanair seems to work, but my question is, has this happened to anyone else, that flights are changed/cancelled and you are not notified? This has been unbelievable!!! Thanks for letting me vent!

Alitalia canceled our flights without telling us. The only way I found out was I called to confirm (not required, but I like to do it anyway, good thing I did this time) a day before the flight was scheduled to depart. They told me that the flight was canceled. I asked when they had planned on telling me since it was about 24 hours prior to departure. They said they tried to contact me, but had no way to get a hold of me. As the agent is telling me this, I'm looking down at my Alitalia ticket that THEY printed, and it has my name and address, office phone, home phone, fax, and e-mail. I'm not sure what else I could have given them. After about 4 hours on the phone and dozens of calls later, it was all worked out with a new schedule. Can you imagine if we showed up for the original flight? I would have not only been p*ssed, but would also be out the money ($100) for the airport limo. I was not impressed with Alitalia and will NEVER fly them again unless there are no other options.
