with the help of the infamous NYC - VCE fare</font>
Can you please give more details on the NYC-VCE fare. How are you getting from Venice to Prague?

Eat at U Kalicha, you'll find it listed in the guidebooks, not far from Wenceslas Square. Read the Adventures of the Good Soldier Schweik in the Great War before you go, you'll get a good taste of what Prague used to be like. As for language, I speak Polish when in Prague, they pretend they understand me, I pretend I understand them.

I think fluency makes a big difference. I pretty much mangled everything, I'm sure. I could tell by the shopkeeper's expression that I was just one more tourist.

Good suggestions on everything. I''d add a few:

Prague is a tough place for omnivores, but I did manage to find a decent salad at the Radost FX, along with some other delcious items.

A couple more sights that might interest you are the TV tower and the Kafka Museum. Also, if you're into it, check out (pun!) Czech hockey. Of they may be in the off season.

A stroll over the Charles Bridge at night is unbeatable, IMO. Just know where your wallet is at all times. It's a notorious spot for pickpockets.

Cabs: there are a couple of English-speaking cab companys and they're just great (won't rip you off). It's just that getting one at the airport can be tricky. I think I might have the numbers somewhere.

The NYC - VCE fare is described at http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum...ML/004994.html .

As far as VCE- PRG , I booked a cheap ticket on VolareWeb.com , an Italian LCC .
