Codeshares: Hawaii interisland

Does anyone know what airlines have codesharing with either Aloha or Hawaiian? I thought UA or AA did, but I can't find those flight numbers.

I'd like to be able to buy a LIH-HNL ticket via either AA.com or UAL.com, but I can't figure out how to do it.

What about other airlines? Is there any way to pick up an interisland ticket via a major airline site and earn booking-bonus miles? (Hawaiian/Aloha Miles themselves would be worthless to me.)

Well, this is what I found -

As for UA/AQ, I don't think their codeshare agreement allows you to book UA on AQ intrastate Hawaii only . I think the only way you can see the codeshare flights is by booking in conjunction with a mainland flight, either as a connector or a multi-city trip.

Book direct through Aloha's Website and enter your *alliance number, you will get a better price than booking through the actual *alliance website you are a member of.

If booking awards on Aloha, your *alliance airline specific 800 number is the way to go, but you will generally be made to wait 24 hours so that Aloha can confirm that the awards booked by your *alliance airline are valid.

AQ is not a Star Alliance member. They are a Mileage Plus partner airline. Plus, where exactly would you enter your *A number on the AQ web site? I've found that I always have to call and have them enter my UA MP number manually, though I can enter my AlohaPass number on their web site. Maybe I missed it on their web site???

Okay, I should have been more specific...

About one year ago, I recall having a ticket for a flight with a number like AA 5985. It was a flight from OGG to HNL, operated by Hawaiian. It also had a number like HA 185. I could look in my electronic timetable and view a whole bunch of "AA 59XX" flights that were really Hawaiian Airlines interisland flights.

I distinctly remember earning AAdvantage miles for the flight, but forget whether I booked at HA.com or AA.com.

Now, I can't even find those 59XX flights.

Did AA break off ties with HA?

David, I did not say Aloha IS a *A memeber, but if you enter your *A number while booking your ticket on Aloha Airlines website you will get the mileage credit that your particular *A airline awards for trips on Aloha.

Can't tell you exactly where you enter the number, I just know for my most recent vacation in HI just over a month ago, I was ablt to.

Nope

Like I said, I think the codeshare is only valid in conjunction with an AA mainland flight. If you do a search on a LAX-LIH r/t on aa.com, you will see the HA flights as a codeshare. I do not think you can book a codeshared HA (or AQ) flight HNL-LIH.

I am assuming you would want to book the codeshare so you get the aa.com bonus for online booking. If you went to HA's website and booked you can just get the base AA miles (same as UA/AQ).

Maybe you can, but they only partner with UA MP.
