Best First Class?
I am planning an around the world trip for our 10th anniversary and wanted opinions on the best first class.
I have flown Continental for quite a while but would be interested in any/all opinions especially relating to areas of the world (ie Maylasia is best to orient, BA to Europe, etc) and specifics as to why you like a particular airline's first class. Thank you! [This message has been edited by DSK (edited 04-17-2003).] |
Where are you going?
|
Most likely:
London, Rome, Isreal, Hong Kong and Austrailia but no deffinate plans yet and we are very flexible. By the way, dbaker, we are flying out of Austin! [This message has been edited by DSK (edited 04-17-2003).] |
This is my opinion:
NA-Europe 1. BA, Great seats, good food, great drinks and some of the best lounges. NA-Asia SQ or CX. Great service on both. If flying through HKG then CX for the lounge. Europe-Asia Tough SQ,CX for the reasons above or BA just because I have grone to like their service style and I am British. But If I was being rational about it SQ. No doubt you will see a lot of different answers to you question as it is all down to taste and what you have gotten used to. |
If you're doing a RTW trip in F, I'd personally pick a Star Alliance ticket. Why? Sure Oneworld has Cathay Pacific -- but *A has Singapore and ANA.
Check out tfung's trip report on ANA's service, NRT-LHR for a sense of ANA. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/smile.gif ------------------ View from the Wing: A blog about Free Miles and Free Markets |
The best F's out there: SQ, LH, NH, BA and CX.

OK all you travel savy people, thank you for your opinions so far. Please keep 'em coming. By the way, where can I find a glossery of airline abreviations?
Thanks again. |
I've flown UA, CX, LH, and TG for international F class. Of these, CX was by far the best.

If you are paying and cost is NOT an issue, then switch between the different carriers... nothing wrong with that.
BA/LH are VERY good for F into and out of Europe CX/SQ are VERY good for F in and out of Asia QF F and JAL F (newer seats) and ANA F (newer seats) is also quite good. For your first flight from AUS take whowever to the CLOSEST gatweay city for BA or LH (or CX/SQ). Limit your exposure to the Domestic F product (my 2 cents) [This message has been edited by NickP 1K (edited 04-17-2003).] |
Good idea to avoi domestic first, thanks.
Any other opinions? |
For domestic FC to Hawaii, AQ is very nice imo.
