Return Tickets
 

We are taking a repositioning cruise from US ot Rome, Italy. We need 4 return airline tickets from either Milan or Paris to the Washington D.C area in mid-May. Last year when we did the same trip the best fare was to purchase a roundtrip from Milan to Dulles and discard the return trip to Milan. Is this still the best option? Any other ideas?

Have you checked with the cruise line? They can usually book one-way tickets at reasonable prices as long as they're sold with a cruise.

I did check and the rate was almost double what I could do on my own. You pay for extras that we don't need. Like airport transfer to and from the ship. They are also very restrictive as to the departure date and we want to stay in Italy for another month after arrival.

Because United is pulling out of the Dulles-Milan market there may be higher prices now due to a decrease in competition, is flying to/from Rome an option?
