vacation suggestions needed
 

My best friend and I like to vacation together at least once a year. Last year, with the ecomony down and finances tight, we went to HNL and stayed with her brother. (Excellent time!) This year, we're going to MCO and staying with my sister.
I'm looking for restaurant recommendations in addition to any nightlife suggestions. My sister lives in Longwood (Maitland/Winter Park area N. of the city). Not fans of Disney or trendy see-and-be-seen places.
Any suggestions? We'll be there Jan 31-Feb 7.

Sign up for your airlines dining program and eat only in those restaurants to rack up some more miles.

I'm an airline employee so "racking up" miles won't make a difference.

Daytona Beach is only about an hour away. You could also visit the Kennedy Space Center just down the coast from Daytona. Tampa/St.Petersburgh and the gulf coast is about a 1 1/2 hour drive to the east. There are water parks, universal studios, and other attractions in Orlando. I noticed a lot of tourist info racks in restaurants. There are also staffed tourist kiosks where you can get ideas of what to see and do. If there are any National or State parks in the area you could take a day for wildlife viewing. I know they have them in south Florida and I really enjoyed my time there. I hope this helps.
