Anyone know common items, best left home to avoid luggage search at the "bomb detection" station so you can lock your luggage and not fine it broken open later?

ranles,
There's no way to avoid TSA post-check in inspection.Period.If they want to peek into your bags, they will ... sad to say. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/frown.gif |
These searches are too new for most of us to comment. I suppose that one could pack only clothes. No shoes, objects, or wires.

Dear Human Unit,
Yes, you have it about right! Too many books or business papers and your bag is opened also. Fed-Ex is going to clean up on this! |
Take the bus.

Last week, I was at CCS (Caracas airport), waiting for a connection flight to POS (Port of Spain). I was called to go downstairs to the luggage storage area because authorities wished to check my luggage.
It was sealed with a lock, and that plastic sheet that you get at the airports. The told me to open it, and they checked it. By the way, they saw a camcorder I had left there, since I was doing a 4 flights trip that day, and was avoiding to have a lot of stuff with me. Well, the end of this is that after the check, I couldn't re-seal it.I only could lock that bag, and when I arrived to POS (90 min. later) I took my luggage, only to discover, at the hotel, that it had been unlocked, somebody had stolen my camcorder, and had closed the lock again |
