Explora hotel in Patagonia
 

Hi All:

Has anyone stayed at the Explora in Chile? I've read some good things about it and of course the locale is spectacular - but I'd really be interested to learn if anyone has been there and what they thought. I'm thinking of celebrating my 50th birthday there this coming April. Thanks!

Is that the one in the middle of the huge park Torres del Paines? If so, I haven't stayed there but we ate there and hung out three years ago. It's very nice, and the best thing we saw in almost 3 weeks in Chile. It is in the middle of a large preserve area and so the nature, hiking and wildlife are the attraction. It takes a long time to get into the park-it's about a 4 hour drive from Punto Arenas.
