Do you post to and read FT while on vacation?
 

I was just noticing one silly person - whom shall remain nameless - has been posting while away on a wonderful vacation. She's certainly not the first to keep on top of FT while on holiday, but I'm just wondering how many people do make a point of logging on while they're traipsing through Europe or beaching it in Hawaii.

I'm pretty good about staying off while I'm on vacation. I've gone for several three- and four-week vacations where I've never even looked at FT. Of course, I've also had some time to kill in Molokai recently, the Internet was free and so well I maybe just happened to gravitate toward FT once or twice.

What about you?

Make that two silly persons. If there's internet available, I'll check FT..and will even pop into chat.

I often head out without any accomodations in place, setting them up as I go along. As such, just about the only way to get hold of me is by e-mail, and family and close friends know I try to get on line at least every other day while I'm traveling.

If I have the time (and the internet cafe I end up isn't in the $20 an hour range), always take a look at FT, and will even post trip reports while on the road (and often cc: to e-mail).

Generally no, I stay away, but I'll usually not miss more than one week without at least glancing at FT. Rarely do I ever actually post on holiday trips, however. If I note a post where I can perhaps help, I've often emailed the questioner a response.

Not really. It depends on how accessible the internet is. If I have it in my hotel room, I may. If I have to go to an internet cafe, down around the corner, near the strip mall by the beach, tucked away in the alley behind the.... you get the picture.

I never go anywhere without ensuring I have some form of internet access and I always read FT while I am away from home. I will often post too.

The problem of abstaining from FT on vacation is that one would need a whole nother vacation upon returning from the first one, just to catch up.

On vacation, I could be Master of my FT Domain if I wanted to, I'm sure. I just think of FlyerTalkerie as a vacation activity.

No internet, no cell phones (except to inquire about directions or making a reservation)

This would tick my company off something terrible, but tough! My vacation, LEAVE ME BE!!

Yes. I start surfing ft.com when I get into the lounge and after arrival in my hotel or in a internet cafe...

I usually don't go near the internet while I'm on vacation.

Usually only when I'm trying to arrange a get together with FTers.

Other than that, I only check my work mail for potential crises and its free.
