What are you 3 favorite Cities?
OK< let's do our own survey:
I'll start (for Int'l and U-S-A
INternational:
3. Shanghai: (many centuries of cultures jammed into one of the fastest transforming cities in the world!)
2. London: the old WORLD Capital, and I think Sir Nick would agree.
1. Paris: No, IT'S MY PARIS!!!! And it's the most emotionally city in the world: provoking emotions of wonder, awe, intelligence, anger, power, and of course LA AMORE!!!!
Honorable mentions: Melbourne, Cairns, Vancouver, Toronto, Vienna and while I have not been there yet: Venice and Montreal.
Now in the U-S-A:
3. Las Vegas: Where frequent Flyers go to earn some well deserved R&R.
TIED WITH New ORleans: See Reason above.
2. San Francisco: Where anyone can feel at home and love those cable cars.
AND CATMAN'S CHOICE OF THE TOP CITY IN THE WORLD:
THE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD... NEW YORK, NEW YORK, NEW YORK (SO NICE THEY NAMED IT THRICE.)
Just try NOT finding something interesting here.
HOnorable mentions: Chicago, Seattle and Boston AND KEY WEST (Buffett country, nuff said!)
I just hope my survey is somewhat in the same theme as the other posted here.

I always knew I was the odd man out -- I lived in New York City for 18 years(near the Whitestone Bridge) and went to school there in Manhattan. I hated it and couldn't wait to get out. I guess to each his or her own. I also hate flying into any NYC area airport; I a cursed to work in upstate NY -- luckily from a friend's advice I fly to Albany airport and drive down from there. NYC is a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
My three favorite cities overall, factoring in everything are: Las Vegas, Austin and Pittsburgh (where I live now).
I'm just not that attracted to large cities anymore ....

Hmmm, pretty subjective question...is it favorite to visit?...favorite to live?....in any case here are the ones that spring to mind for me:
U.S.
1) Chicago
2) New York
3) Washington, DC (I know I may get grief for this suggestion, but although not remarkably patriotic, I happen to enjoy visits to “our nation’s capital”. I’ve never lived there, but I happen to be a sucker for the Mall area - the monuments, the museums, the bigness and grandeur, which contribute to an aura of power around the place - luckily whenever I visit I always leave before the surroundings START TO AFFECT ME)
Elsewhere
1) Zurich
2) Dubrovnik
3) Berlin

OK, Catman, look what you've done. I suspect this thread is going to wrap around the world when all are done posting their favorites. But we all love to be asked, so here are my faves:
U.S. 1. San Francisco
2. Seattle
3. Phoenix/Scottsdale area
Rest of the World
1. Sydney
2. Vancouver
3. Wakaya Island, Fiji
These are all places I love to visit and could live there, too.
