Worst Airport

What airport do you think is the worst? My nominations go to Newark and Detroit. Both of them are just -- well, let's just say that I think prisons are more welcoming!

Detroit, LaGuardia, Hartford, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Boston (not necessarily in that order).

so many choices!

DFW has the worst rental car setup and the most confusing access( at least to and from North Dallas)

BOS is old, ugly, and deficient in many ways.

IAD has its "mobile departure lounges" and long walks to rental car bus if you're not on United.

ATL is too big and too crowded especially if one of the trains isn't running.

YYZ features very long walks to customs and limited services after custom(flying DL at least)

SAN has the scariest approaches.

i'll probably think of some more.

I agree with mdtony, but I've said it before and will say it again:

ORD
EWR
LGA
DEN

I'll come up with more.

Anybody got a best list?

Arriving at Logan is like arriving at a dungeon. Three of the terminals are physically wedded with concrete parking garages. (In terminal A you once could park inside the terminal, above the gates, before the garage was closed in the mid-90s).

Of course, Massport has spent a fortune (the vaunted Logan 2000 project - ongoing through 2002) building yet more chutes and ladders between the terminals, so you will soon have more concrete to enjoy.

There are nice features, too (you can get to Beacon Hill in 10 minutes if there is no traffic, for starters). But this is not the topic for the nice features of airports.

Another vote for EWR; I've never been on time into or out of Newark.

SNA and TPA would be on my Best list.

Gotta go with LGA. Ugh.

The runway is scary; i thought i saw potholes! And what's up with the bus drivers for going between concourses? Must be a NY thing...

Yes, I live in Atlanta.

Gotta say though, if you fly from DCA to LGA on shuttle service, sit on the left side of the plane. Best view ever.

EWR is a whole different kettle of fish if you're flying on CO in and out of Terminal C (modern, good services but very crowded, great Presidents Clubs) than if you're flying in and out of Terminal A.

My votes:

DTW
OAK
DFW
ORD (how about someplace halfway decent to eat?)
BOS

SJC terminal C by far. Ever disembark a plane via airstairs (the truck was unavailable) in the rain? No jetways suck!

CDG is a confusing nightmare. Try finding the rental car return!

SFO is terrible for arriving flight delays.

ORD is terrible if you have to change planes between concourses.

PHX is to freaking big.

IMO, best to date...AUS, TPA, RDU, HKG

What's so bad about PHL?

Concourses, maybe. Terminals definitely. The last time I went through ORD I was connecting on United Express/ACA. We arrived at C20 and the connection was at F12. That's a long walk.

I was a bit nervous when I was sitting on the aircraft and the door was closed for departure and just then the United baggage guy drove up with my luggage. I have no idea why it took an hour to get bags from concourse C to F. The baggage ended up making it on the plane, so all was well.

What's wrong with BDL? It's nice to step on a plane at IAH and be home in three hours (with ice cream sundaes in first class).
