Some info needed on some airlines

Hi,

I know that some of you guys on this forum have flown some of these airlines. As, I intend to fly a couple of them soon, I was just wondering if anybody could just post some of their experiences they had with the respective carriers and whether they would recommend them or not.

Here is the list, thanks in advance:
*Emirates
*Cathay Pacific
*China Airlines
*Thai International Airways
*Singapore Airlines
*and, maybe, Malaysian

Cheers.

The only one I can comment on, from half a dozen personal experiences, is Cathay Pacific.

They're currently having labor problems which may cause schedule disruptions, but once you're aboard and in flight the service is among the best in the air. This is especially true in Business or First but even Coach service is superior to the way almost any other airline treats "steerage". Their cabin crews are some of the best in the business.

An applicable statistic I read once is that the average amount Cathay spends on food and drink per first class passenger is over US$80. Flying in first on Cathay from LAX to Hong Kong about a year ago, my only possible complaint (and that's if I searched really hard for something) was that the Stolichnaya they served with my huge portion of sevruga caviar wasn't quite cold enough. Next time, I'll know to have the champagne instead.

The seating, even in coach, takes into account that most of their flights are long-haul, so it's comfortable, while business is very comfortable and first is downright luxurious.

Why don't you post specific questions in each airline's section on FlyerTalk Miles? That way you'll reach people who are currently flying those airlines.

I would choose Singapore airlines and Emirates. Both offer great service in all classes. Above the average but the seating is just average.
Take a look at milesbuzz!

Just one mans thoughts:

*Emirates-never flown them

*Cathay Pacific-great service, even in coach.

*China Airlines-marginal service, marginal food.

*Thai International Airways-never flown them

*Singapore Airlines-as good as Cathay

*Malaysian-I've only flown them intra-Asia. Nothing special.

you should say which class you intend to fly

for singapore airlines, this is of course one of the most luxurious airlines, with skysuites in first (sim. to cathay) and even in eco they serve champaign.

china airlines i only new their business class between TPE and HKG which is fine, but i think they have destroyed too many airplanes in the past years.

with thai you can have mixed experiences. some airplanes and lounges are great some are worse than you can imagine. depends.
